What E38 actually means
The machine has spotted the air going into the condenser getting too hot during drying, and it has shut the drying down to protect itself.
On this Beko washer dryer there are several temperature sensors (NTCs) watching the drying air circuit. E38 is the one covering the condenser inlet reporting an over-temperature, so the control board halts drying rather than let the heat build further. Typically the load comes out damp, the programme ends much sooner than it should, and the door glass and the surround feel unusually hot — colours can fade on the wash too.
What E38 looks like on a Beko washer dryer

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up and see whether the code returns on a fresh drying cycle
- Clean out the pump filter at the bottom front and clear any lint from it
- Check the drain hose is not kinked or trapped behind the machine
- Wipe fluff away from the door seal and glass
- Try a smaller drying load — a heavily packed drum makes airflow problems worse, though it will not cure a blockage
