What E44 actually means
The dryer side of the machine can't rinse out its condenser with water, so it has stopped the drying cycle.

If the control board asks for that flush and the water doesn't arrive — or the valve doesn't respond electrically — the machine flags the fault rather than carry on drying into a blocked condenser. What usually causes it
- The condenser wash valve is blocked with scale or fluff and won't pass water

- A heavily silted-up condenser, so the flush can't clear it
- Wiring or connector fault at the valve
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the cold water tap feeding the machine is fully open and the household supply is running normally.
- Check the fill hose behind the machine isn't kinked or trapped — leave it looping freely, not pressed hard against a wall.
- Clean the pump filter at the bottom front and clear any fluff you can reach from the filter housing.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up and try a short drying cycle to see if the code returns.
