Beko E06 washer dryer: what it means & what to check

What E06 actually means

The control board can no longer switch the drum motor properly, so the machine gives up on the programme.

E06 points at the motor triac — the switching component on the main control board that feeds power to the drum motor. E06 is either short circuited or stuck behaving like a diode, which means it can't turn the motor on and off cleanly. The typical picture is the drum twitching or turning a couple of times, then the machine ending the cycle early with the wash or dry unfinished.

What E06 looks like on a Beko washer dryer

What usually causes it

A failed motor triac on the main control board
Damage to the board caused by an earlier motor or wiring fault
A power surge or the machine having previously tripped or blown a fuse
Moisture or condensation reaching the control board — not unusual in washer dryers

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and restart the programme — if the code returns straight away, it is a genuine fault, not a glitch
Make sure the load isn't jammed hard against the drum or door glass before you retry
If the drum makes no attempt to turn at all, or you smell hot electrics, leave it off
