What E43 actually means

The machine has detected that the drying side is getting too hot and has shut the dry cycle down to protect itself.

On these Beko washer dryers the drum air is heated, blown round by the process fan and cooled again in the condenser. Sensors watch the temperature at the drum, the drum inlet and both sides of the condenser, and if any of them climbs beyond the safe point the control board stops the cycle and shows this code. It points at three possible culprits: the air heaters, the process fan that moves the air, or a blocked condenser.

What usually causes it

A blocked or silted-up condenser, so the hot air cannot be cooled
The process fan not turning, or not moving enough air
Heaters staying switched on when they should have cut out (a stuck relay or triac on the control board)
A failed fan capacitor or a poor connection at the fan
Running a drying programme with nothing in the drum, which lets the air overheat quickly

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and try again — if it trips out on drying every time, the fault is real
Clear the pump filter and any fluff from the door seal and drum before you retry
Make sure the cold tap to the machine is fully open, since the condenser relies on water to cool the air
Don't run a drying programme with the drum empty or crammed full — both push the air temperature up
Check the machine isn't pushed hard against a wall or boxed in with no air around the back
