What F10 actually means
The main control board has a fault in the circuit that powers the door lock, so the machine won't run.
Beko's own fault chart puts F10 down to a short circuit in the door lock triac — the switching device on the control board that sends power to the door interlock. Because the board can no longer control the lock properly, it refuses to start a programme, and the door may stay locked or the cycle may stop part-way. The documented remedy is replacement of the control card, not the door lock itself.
What usually causes it
- A failed switching device on the main control board
- Door lock stuck or the door not shutting fully, keeping the lock circuit engaged
- Damaged or loose wiring between the board and the door interlock
- A power surge or moisture reaching the board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch it back on and try a short programme.
- Check nothing is trapped in the door seal and the door shuts with a firm click — an overfilled drum pushing on the door is a common culprit.
- Make sure the door isn't sagging or catching on the frame when you close it.
