Beko H05 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What H05 actually means

The machine has spotted water continuing to come in when it shouldn't be, so it has stopped the programme.

On these Beko models H05 is logged as an uninterrupted water-inlet fault machine cannot switch off. Rather than letting the drum keep filling, the control shuts the cycle down and shows the code. You may see more water in the drum than the wash needs, or the machine filling and draining repeatedly without getting on with the programme.

What H05 looks like on a Beko washing machine

What usually causes it

Water inlet valve not closing fully, often because grit or limescale is holding it open
The pressure/level sensing system giving the control the wrong reading, so it never sees the drum as full
Blocked or pinched pressure hose inside the machine, which affects how the level is measured
Control board fault, where the valve is being held live when it should be off

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the water tap behind the machine off — this stops any further filling while you decide what to do
Switch the machine off at the wall for a minute, then back on, in case the code was a one-off reading
Check the inlet hose is not kinked or crushed against the wall
Do not start another cycle until the tap has been off and the code has cleared
