What H06 actually means

The machine hasn't taken in the water it expected, so it has halted the wash rather than run dry.

On this Beko the fault H06 is logged as a water-inlet fault. The control board opens the fill valve and waits for the drum to reach the right level; if that level isn't reached in the time allowed, the cycle stops and the code appears. You'll usually see it early on, before the drum starts turning properly, with little or no water in the machine. It is distinct from H05, which is the opposite problem of water coming in when it shouldn't.

What usually causes it

Water tap behind the machine turned off or only part open
Inlet hose kinked or trapped behind the machine
Blocked filter mesh where the hose screws onto the machine
Genuinely low mains water pressure, or a nearby stopcock left closed after other work
Faulty water inlet valve or pressure/level sensing, needing an engineer

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Check the tap feeding the machine is fully open — a partly closed tap fills too slowly and trips the same code.
Look behind the machine and make sure the inlet hose isn't kinked, crushed or twisted.
Run a cold tap elsewhere in the house to confirm you have normal pressure and no supply interruption.
If the machine has two hoses (hot and cold), check both taps are on.
Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and restart the programme to clear the code.
