What E17 actually means

The fridge freezer has spotted a problem with the flap fan — one of the small internal fans that moves cold air around inside \— and it has flagged it rather than carrying on quietly.

Blomberg's control board watches each fan and expects to see it turning at the right speed whenever it is called for. On this code the fan associated with the air-flap (the motorised vent that shares cold air between compartments) either isn't running or isn't reporting back properly, so the board raises the fault on the display. Cooling elsewhere usually continues, but air distribution to one compartment can suffer, so temperatures may start to drift.

If you can see frost or ice around an internal air vent, empty the appliance and let it defrost fully, then restart it
