What C01 actually means

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Press the Start/Pause button to leave the settings mode \u2014 the normal programme display should come back
- If the display stays on C01, switch the machine off at the wall for a minute, then turn it back on and select a programme as usual
- Check whether the water hardness level was changed deliberately (softened water in the rinse phase can be turned on and off in the same menu) before assuming anything is wrong
