What E95 actually means
The dryer's main control board has lost contact with the memory chip that holds its settings, so it has abandoned the cycle.
Inside the control board there's a small memory chip (an EEPROM) that stores the machine's configuration and cycle data. The processor checks it can talk to that chip, and on E95 it can't, so the drum stops and the cycle is dropped rather than run blind. Electrolux's own fault list puts this down to a faulty electronic board.
What usually causes it
- Faulty main control board (the usual outcome)
- Corrupted or unreadable memory chip on the board
- A power interruption or supply disturbance that upset the board mid-cycle
- A board fitted or configured incorrectly after a previous repair
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch off at the wall socket, leave it for a minute or two, then power back up and try a cycle — occasionally the code clears after a mains blip
- Make sure the dryer is plugged straight into a wall socket rather than an extension lead or timer plug

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above.
