Electrolux F23 microwave: what it means & what to check

What F23 actually means

The control board has read a setting that is outside the values it accepts, decided it can't trust its own configuration, and shut the power section down.

On this appliance the user interface board checks the configuration data it holds for the appliance. If a value comes back out of the valid range, the interface sends a shut-off instruction to the power board and puts F23 up on the display. It stays there until you switch the appliance off — nothing will cook while the code is present, because the power side has deliberately been disabled.
