What F24 actually means

The control panel has received a status from the main control board that it doesn't recognise, so it has shut the heating side down and locked itself on the error until you switch the appliance off.

On this Electrolux appliance the user interface and the power board talk to each other constantly. F24 is logged when the interface sees an "unknown state" from the board \u2014 a reply that doesn't match anything it expects \u2014 and its response is to send a shutdown command to the power board and hold the fault on the display. Switch the appliance off at the wall socket or isolator, leave it for a minute, then switch back on \u2014 this is the power-down the fault needs to clear
If it clears, note whether it comes back at the same point in a cycle or at random; that tells the engineer a lot
Make sure the door closes properly and the appliance isn't running with anything obstructing the door catch
