Haden E07 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What E07 actually means

The machine can't get a sensible reading from the sensor that measures the water temperature, so it stops rather than heat blindly.

Inside the drum housing there's a small temperature sensor (an NTC thermistor) that tells the control board how hot the water is. When the board sees a reading that's out of range, missing, or short-circuited, it halts the cycle with this code — usually as the wash is about to start heating, so you'll often find the door locked with cold water sitting in the drum. The machine will normally still fill, drain and spin; it's the heating stage it won't attempt.

What E07 looks like on a Haden washing machine

What usually causes it

A loose or corroded plug on the temperature sensor
The sensor itself has failed and reads out of range
Damp or damaged wiring in the loom to the sensor
Water leaking onto the connection block near the heater area
Less often, a control board that isn't reading the sensor correctly

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up and start a short cold wash — an occasional false reading will clear.
Try a cold programme (one with no heating). If that runs through without the code, it points firmly at the sensor circuit rather than anything else.
If there's water left in the drum, run a drain or spin programme to empty it before you leave the machine standing.
