What F11 actually means
The board that drives the drum motor has reported a hardware fault, so the machine has shut the wash down rather than keep driving the motor.
On Hisense machines this code points at the inverter (motor control) side of the electronics rather than anything in the water system. The control detects that the drive stage or its connection to the motor isn't behaving as expected and stops the programme, usually as the drum is trying to turn or spin. The machine gives the fault a set number of retries — it drops the relay, waits, and tries again — and only latches the alarm once it keeps failing.
What usually causes it
- A faulty inverter / motor control board
- A loose or damaged plug between the control board and the motor
- Poor or unstable mains supply to the machine
- A failing drum motor pulling the drive stage down
- A communication fault between the control boards
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch on and restart the programme — the fault sometimes clears if it was a one-off
- Make sure the machine is plugged straight into a wall socket, not through an extension lead or adaptor
- Check the plug and mains lead are not damaged or crushed behind the machine
