What F00 actually means
There is no fault stored in the machine's memory — F00 is the "nothing recorded" reading, not a breakdown.
Miele washer dryers keep a fault log that can be read out, and F00 is what shows when that log is empty. It normally appears when someone has put the machine into its service readout to look for a stored fault and there isn't one, rather than as a warning that pops up mid-cycle. If the machine is genuinely misbehaving and still reports F00, the electronics haven't logged the problem — so the fault has to be found from the symptom, not the code.
What F00 looks like on a Miele washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Miele washer dryer, F00 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing
- Door stuck shut with the load inside
- Won't start even with the door closed
- Machine not draining
- Water left in the drum at the end of the cycle
- Stops mid-cycle full of water
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- The fault memory has been read out and is empty
- A previous fault was cleared after a repair or a reset
- A one-off glitch that ended the cycle without being recorded
- A mechanical or water-supply problem the control board doesn't log as a fault
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then back on, and run a short programme to see whether it behaves normally
- Clean the drain filter behind the flap at the bottom front and check the pull cord for the drain pump moves freely
- Check the fill hose isn't kinked and the tap is fully open
- Check the drain hose isn't kinked or pushed too far down the standpipe
- Push the door firmly shut and make sure nothing — laundry, detergent residue — is stopping the catch engaging

- Push the door firmly shut and make sure nothing — laundry, detergent residue — is stopping the catch engaging.
