What F29 actually means

The machine has decided the steam heater isn't doing anything, so it has stopped the programme rather than carry on without it.

Miele washer dryers with a steam function use a separate heating unit to generate steam, and the control board watches for a temperature rise once it calls for it. If nothing happens in the time expected, the control logs F29 as "steam heater inactive" and halts. It is a fault in the steam side of the machine, not the normal wash heating \u2014 that has its own code.

Check the water supply tap is fully open and the inlet hose isn't kinked behind the machine
Try a programme without the steam option; if that runs normally it confirms the fault is confined to the steam system
