What E11 actually means
The main control board has lost communication with the separate board that runs the drying side of the machine, so the appliance stops rather than attempt a dry.
On the LD752W the washing and drying functions are controlled by two boards that talk to each other over a wiring loom. When the main board sends a signal and gets nothing sensible back from the dryer board, it flags E11 and abandons the cycle — usually as soon as the programme tries to move into the drying phase. Washing itself may appear normal right up to that point, which is why owners often think the fault is with the heater or the fan.
What E11 looks like on a Servis washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Servis washer dryer, E11 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not drying
- Blowing cold air
- Clothes still damp at the end
- Takes hours to dry
- Not drying properly
- Takes hours to dry a load
- Getting hot but the clothes stay damp
- No function at all
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- A loose or corroded plug on one of the control boards
- A damaged or chafed wiring loom between the two boards
- A failed dryer control board
- Supply voltage outside the range the boards will tolerate, or a very damp, cold installation
- A failed main control board (less common, and usually only found after the loom and dryer board are ruled out)
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall socket for a minute, then switch it back on and retry — a one-off communication glitch will sometimes clear
- Try a wash-only programme with no drying selected; if that completes, it points firmly at the drying side and is useful information for the engineer
- Make sure the room isn't unusually cold or damp and that the machine isn't plugged into an extension lead or multi-way adaptor
Which Servis models show E11
E11 means the same thing on this model. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Tried the checks and it's still showing E11?
