What is actually happening
Induction hobs will not heat a pan that is not magnetic, so a pan that suddenly stopped working is worth checking with a fridge magnet before anything else. Beyond that, induction faults are usually electronic: the zones talk to a control board, and a communication error will take out one zone or the whole hob and show a code such as E9 or 61.
The Beko fault codes that point at this
A Beko induction hob will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not working:
- E01 — The hob has lost a sensible temperature reading from one of its cooking zones and has shut that zone (or the whole hob) down as a precaution.
- E02 — The hob's electronics have lost a sensible reading from one of the temperature sensors, so it has shut that cooking zone down rather than heat blind.
- E04 — The hob's control board is reading a temperature sensor that never changes, so it has shut the affected cooking zone down rather than heat blind.
- F01 — The touch control panel on the hob has failed its own self-test, so the hob shuts down rather than run with controls it can't trust.
- F02 — The hob has detected a problem with the touch controls on its glass top, so it has shut the cooking zones down rather than respond to presses it can't trust.
- F03 — The hob's touch control panel has lost communication with the rest of the hob, so the hob shuts down rather than run without reliable commands.
If yours is showing one of those, that is a much shorter conversation than a general fault — tell us the code when you book and the engineer can often carry the part.
The usual causes on a Beko induction hob
- A pan that is not induction-compatible, or too small for the zone
- A communication fault between the touch control and the power board
- A failed induction coil or power module for one zone
- Overheating, where the hob shuts a zone down to protect itself
- Water or a spillage sitting on the touch controls
What you can safely check yourself
- Hold a fridge magnet to the base of the pan — if it does not stick, the hob cannot heat it
- Wipe the touch panel completely dry; standing liquid locks the controls out
- Note any code shown and which zones are affected
- Switch off at the isolator for five minutes to clear a lockout
