What is actually happening
On a conventional dryer this is usually a failed element or a tripped thermal cut-out, and the cut-out normally trips because airflow was restricted — so replacing the part without clearing the fluff simply repeats the fault. On a heat pump dryer there is no element at all, and a dryer that runs a full cycle without heat and reports nothing is a different diagnosis entirely.
The Electrolux fault codes that point at this
A Electrolux tumble dryer will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not heating:
- C07 — The dryer isn't getting hot — it checked for a rise in air temperature after the heater switched on, didn't see one, and stopped.
- C08 — The dryer has stopped because its temperature sensor is giving readings the control board doesn't accept.
- E20 — The dryer has stopped mid-cycle because the fan that cools the heat pump compressor isn't running.
- E21 — The dryer has lost control of the pump that moves condensed water into the tank, so it has stopped the cycle.
- E23 — The dryer has stopped because it can't run its heat pump safely " most often a failed compressor cooling fan, though on some models the same code points to the water level sensor in the condensate tank.
- E41 — The dryer has found a fault in the part of its control board that powers the door lock, so it has stopped the cycle rather than run with a door it can't reliably lock or release.
- E43 — The dryer can't confirm the door is properly locked, so it shuts the cycle down.
- E50 — The dryer has stopped because it isn't happy with the drum motor — usually because the motor is running too hot.
If yours is showing one of those, that is a much shorter conversation than a general fault — tell us the code when you book and the engineer can often carry the part.
