On most makes the pattern of flashes or the code shown identifies the fault precisely, and the two most common are a drain fault and the anti-flood float. Note the code before switching anything off — it is the quickest route to the right diagnosis.
The Hotpoint fault codes that point at this
A Hotpoint dishwasher will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to lights flashing:
- E03 — The dishwasher hasn't managed to pump the water out in the time it expects, so it has stopped and flagged a drain problem.
- F02 — The dishwasher hasn't taken in the water it expected, so it has stopped before washing anything.
- F06 — The dishwasher hasn't taken in enough water within the time it allows itself, so it has stopped and flagged a fill problem.
- F10 — The dishwasher isn't getting the water hot the way it expects, and it has flagged a problem with the heating system.
- F13 — The dishwasher has found a fault with its own main control board and has shut the cycle down.
