What E20 actually means
The control board has lost a sensible reading from the temperature sensor inside the BioFresh (crisper) compartment.
Your Beko monitors the air temperature in the BioFresh drawer section with its own sensor, separate from the fridge and freezer sensors. When the board sees a reading that is out of range or an open circuit from that sensor, it flags E20. The rest of the fridge freezer normally carries on cooling, but the BioFresh zone can no longer be held at its proper temperature, so food in that drawer may not keep as long as it should.
What usually causes it
- The BioFresh air sensor itself has failed
- A sensor plug that has worked loose at the control board
- Damaged or chafed sensor wiring behind the liner
- A fault on the main control board reading the sensor
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the appliance off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on \u2014 a sensor fault that has cleared itself is forgotten after a power interruption
- Check nothing is jammed against the back of the BioFresh drawer and that the drawer closes fully
- Move anything highly perishable out of the BioFresh drawer into the main fridge until it's fixed
