Beko E24 washer dryer: what it means & what to check

What E24 actually means

The machine can't get a reading from the sensor that works out how much washing is in the drum, so it stops rather than guess.

Beko washer dryers use a load sensor mounted on the drum's suspension (shock absorber) to weigh the load, and the control board reads it through a small sensor card. When that signal goes missing or reads nonsense, the machine flags E24 and won't continue, because it can't set water level, spin balance or drying time correctly. On the service flow chart the first thing checked is the plug connections at the load sensor card and at the shock absorber, then the sensor itself.

What E24 looks like on a Beko washer dryer

What usually causes it

A loose or dislodged plug at the load sensor card, often after the machine has been moved or has been vibrating badly
The sensor connection at the shock absorber having worked loose
A failed load sensor — the usual outcome when the connections are sound
Damaged wiring between the sensor and the main control board
Less often, a fault on the control board that reads the sensor

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and try a short programme — a one-off glitch can clear
If the drum was heavily loaded or badly unbalanced, take some washing out and rebalance it before restarting
Check the machine is sitting level and firm on the floor and isn't rocking, as constant heavy vibration is what shakes these connections loose
