The washer dryer's main control board can't read or write its own stored settings, so it won't run a programme.

E26 is raised when the board tries to read those settings back, or save new ones, and the memory doesn't answer correctly. With no reliable settings to work from the machine refuses to start the cycle rather than run blind — most owners see it as a dead machine that beeps or flashes as soon as it's switched on.
