Beko E73 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What E73 actually means

The control board has lost its electrical connection to the drum motor, or it has spotted a fault in the circuit that drives the drain pump, so it has shut the cycle down.

On these Beko models the board watches the motor and its speed sensor (the tacho) constantly. If the current or the speed signal disappears altogether, or the switching device that powers the drain pump is found to be shorted, the machine stops rather than carry on blind. The usual symptom is a cycle that dies with a drum full of water and no attempt to spin, sometimes with the pump running when it should not be.

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and try a rinse and spin — a one-off board glitch will clear
Clean the pump filter at the front and check the drain hose is not kinked, so the machine has the best chance of emptying if it restarts
If the drum is full, run the spin programme on its own and note whether the drum turns at all — useful information for the engineer
