Beko F01 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What F01 actually means

The machine can't get a sensible reading from its water temperature sensor, so it won't heat the wash.

Beko machines use an NTC thermistor in the tub to tell the control board how hot the water is. If that reading comes back as an open circuit (no signal at all) or a short circuit (an impossible reading), the board stops rather than run the heater blind. The usual complaint that brings us out is a wash that finishes stone cold, or a cycle that halts early with this code showing.

What F01 looks like on a Beko washing machine

What usually causes it

Faulty temperature sensor (NTC) in the tub
A loose or unseated plug on the control board where the sensor connects
Damaged or corroded sensor wiring, often after a leak
A failed control board misreading the sensor

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall socket for a minute, then switch back on and start a short wash — an occasional one-off reading error can clear.
If it heats normally afterwards and the code doesn't return, keep an eye on it; if the wash is still cold, it's a genuine sensor fault.
