Blomberg E29 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What E29 actually means

The machine has measured the mains electricity coming into it and found it outside the range it needs to run properly, so it has halted the programme.

The control board watches the incoming supply voltage throughout the wash. If it drops too low (the service procedure treats anything under about 150 VAC as out of range) or climbs too high, the board flags E29 and stops rather than trying to work on power it can't rely on. The tell-tale signs before the code appears are given as programmes running much longer than they should and the wash not heating properly, because the heater and motor are the first things to suffer on a weak supply.

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

If it's running through an extension lead or a multi-way adaptor, plug it straight into a wall socket instead. Washing machines draw too much for these to cope with.
Notice whether lights dim or other appliances misbehave at the same time. If they do, the problem is the supply to the house, not the machine.
Try the machine at a quieter time of day. A supply that sags under load will often let a wash finish when demand is lower.
