What E32 actually means

The temperature sensor in the drying section is giving a reading the machine doesn't trust, so it won't run the drying part of the cycle properly.

Your machine relies on a small temperature sensor (an NTC) in the heater duct to control the drying air temperature. E32 means the reading coming back from that sensor is outside the range the control board expects ypically it's reading as an open or short circuit. Because it can't judge the temperature safely, the machine either takes far too long or won't dry at all.

What usually causes it

  • Failed temperature sensor in the heater duct
  • A loose or corroded plug on the sensor wiring
  • Damaged wiring between the sensor and the control board
  • Blocked or dirty air duct affecting the drying section
  • Faulty control board misreading the sensor

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch it back on and try the cycle again
  2. Clean the fluff/lint filter and condenser filter if your model has them, and refit them properly
  3. Check the machine has room to breathe and isn't pushed hard against a wall
  4. Try a wash-only programme with no drying e fault is confined to the drying side

When to call someone

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.

Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
