What F02 actually means

The machine has lost the electrical connection to its heating element, so it can't warm the water.

During the heating stage of the wash, the control board checks that it has a complete circuit through the heater. On these Blomberg machines F02 is logged when that circuit reads as open — the board sends power but nothing comes back. The wash will usually carry on cold, or stall at the point where it should start heating, and the display drops the code rather than continuing.

Scale or long-term overheating having killed the element early
Control board fault, which is the least common of the four

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it up and start a short cotton wash — an occasional one-off electronic glitch will clear
Note whether the wash still completes but the clothes come out cold; that tells the engineer the element rather than the board is the likely culprit
Set a cold wash if you need to get a load through before the repair
