What E07 actually means

The dishwasher has lost a sensible reading from its water temperature sensor and has stopped the programme rather than heat the water blind.

The control board watches a thermistor ells it how hot the water in the tub is. On this code the reading has gone to a short circuit — an impossibly low resistance — so the board abandons the cycle straight away, and on the compact models an alarm tone sounds for about half a minute alongside the code. Because the machine can no longer tell how hot the water is, it will not carry on heating.

What E07 looks like on a Electrolux dishwasher

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Electrolux dishwasher, E07 usually shows up as one or more of these:

  • Dishes coming out cold and wet
  • Not drying the load
  • Water not heating up
  • No function at all
  • Dead — nothing lights up
  • Lights flashing and nothing happening
  • Programme won't start
  • Dishwasher tripping the electrics

Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.

What usually causes it

  • A failed water temperature sensor (thermistor) in the tub
  • Damp or corrosion in the sensor's plug, giving a false short
  • Chafed or trapped sensor wiring behind the tub
  • A fault on the control board reading the sensor

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the dishwasher off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and start a short programme — an occasional one-off reading can clear
  2. Note whether the code comes back at the same point every cycle; that is genuinely useful information for the engineer

Which Electrolux models show E07

E07 means the same thing on all 4 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.
