What F06 actually means
The dishwasher can no longer trust its water temperature reading, so it has stopped rather than risk heating the water uncontrolled.
The machine uses a temperature sensor (an NTC thermistor) to decide when the water in the tub is hot enough. On this Electrolux, F06 is logged either when that sensor gives a reading the control board knows can't be right, or when the water temperature climbs past the safe limit the software allows. Because the heater is only safe to switch on if the temperature can be measured, the cycle is halted and the code shown instead.
What F06 looks like on a Electrolux dishwasher

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the dishwasher off at the wall for a minute, then switch it back on and start a short cycle — if the code returns straight away, the fault is live rather than a one-off glitch
- Note whether the door and dishes feel unusually hot at the point it stops, and mention it when you book the repair; it helps tell an overheat from a dead sensor
