What E12 actually means

Turn the appliance off at the socket for a minute and back on — if the fault was a one-off glitch it may clear
Check nothing is packed against the vents or the rear wall inside, as blocked airflow makes frost build faster
Make sure both doors are closing and sealing properly and no drawer or package is holding a door ajar
Note whether one compartment is icing up or running warm while the other is fine — that tells the engineer which side is failing
