What E24 actually means

The fan that moves cold air around the fridge (fresh food) section isn't reporting back properly, and the appliance has flagged it as a fault.

On these Flavel fridge freezers the fresh food compartment fan is monitored by a secondary control board — the documents call it the U-1 card — which watches the fan's speed feedback signal. When that signal stops arriving, or the fan isn't turning as commanded, E24 is stored and shown. It sits in the same family as the other fan fault codes (E13 to E18), and the practical effect is that the fridge section stops being cooled evenly, so the top or back may frost while the rest drifts warm.

The fan motor itself worn out or seized
Food, packaging or a badly placed shelf fouling the fan wheel or blocking the air outlet
A fault on the U-1 control board reading the fan's feedback signal

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the appliance off at the wall for a minute, then back on — occasionally the code clears if it was a one-off read.
Check nothing is pressed against the air vents or the back wall inside the fridge; leave a clear gap around them.
Take out anything overpacked at the back of the shelves — a tall container against the rear vent is a common trigger.
If there is a heavy frost build-up inside, empty the appliance and let it defrost fully with the door open, then restart it.
Make sure the door is closing cleanly and the seal is sitting flat all the way round, so warm damp air isn't being drawn in.
