Grundig F03 hob: what it means & what to check

What F03 actually means

The two processors inside the hob's touch control panel have stopped talking to each other properly, so the hob shuts the cooking zones down.

On this Grundig induction hob the glass touch panel has its own control board with two processors on it that have to stay in step with one another. When that internal conversation breaks down the board reports F03 and refuses to run the zones, because it can no longer trust what your finger presses are asking for. It is a fault inside the touch control board itself, not something to do with the pans, the zones or your electrics.

What F03 looks like on a Grundig hob

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the hob off at the wall (or at the isolator switch) for a minute, then back on — an occasional one-off glitch will clear
Make sure the glass is completely dry and free of spills, and that nothing is resting on the touch area
If the panel was recently wiped or something boiled over, leave it to dry out fully before trying again
