What E01 actually means
The dryer has lost a reliable reading from its temperature sensor, so it has stopped the programme rather than carry on heating blind.
The control board watches the air temperature inside the machine throughout the cycle. When the signal from that temperature sensor goes out of range or disappears altogether, the board can no longer tell how hot the drum is, so it abandons the programme and shows the fault. Hisense's own guidance for this one is short and clear: note the code, switch the machine off and get it looked at — it is not a setting or a loading problem.
What E01 looks like on a Hisense washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Hisense washer dryer, E01 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing

What usually causes it
- A failed temperature sensor (the most common finding)
- A damaged or disconnected sensor lead inside the machine

- A control board that is misreading an otherwise healthy sensor
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and start a short programme — an occasional one-off reading will clear and not come back.
- Clean the door filter and, on condenser models, the lower filter or condenser access, then let the machine cool right down before retrying; heavily blocked airflow makes the machine run hotter than it should.
