Hisense E02 washer dryer: what it means & what to check

What E02 actually means

The two electronic boards inside the machine have stopped talking to each other, so the control panel has halted the cycle and is asking for an engineer.

Hisense lists E02 as a communication error. The main control board and the board behind the display (or a linked module) exchange signals constantly while a wash or dry cycle runs; when those messages stop arriving or fail their checks, the machine shuts the programme down rather than run blind. In practice the drum stops, the buttons may do nothing useful, and the code comes straight back after a reset.

A fault on the display/control panel board itself
A fault on the main control board
Moisture or condensation getting into a connector, common where the machine dries as well as washes

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall socket, leave it for a minute, then switch back on and try the cycle again — a one-off glitch will sometimes clear
If the code returns immediately or on every cycle, stop there; there is nothing else an owner can safely check on this fault
