Hisense E03 washer dryer: what it means & what to check

What E03 actually means

The machine has spotted a problem with the pump that shifts the condensed water out of the drum area, so it has stopped the cycle rather than let water build up.

On these Hisense condenser machines the water pulled out of the laundry collects in a small sump in the base and is pumped up into the water container (or out through the drain hose). E03 is the control board reporting that the pump has not done its job — either it is not running, or it is running without shifting any water. E03 is a pump error and points it straight at service, which tells you they expect it to be a hardware fault rather than something the user has done.

What E03 looks like on a Hisense washer dryer

What usually causes it

Water container full or not pushed fully back into place
Condensate drain hose kinked, trapped behind the machine or run too high
Fluff and lint sludge blocking the sump or pump inlet
Pump motor worn out or seized
Wiring or control board fault on the pump circuit

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Empty the water container and slide it back in until it seats properly
If the machine drains through a hose, check the hose is not kinked, squashed behind the machine or lifted higher than the manufacturer allows
Clean the fluff filter in the door area and clear any lint you can see or reach without tools
Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and restart a short cycle to see whether the code returns
