What E00 actually means

The machine's own control board has reported a fault with itself, so it has stopped rather than run a cycle.

Hisense's documentation lists this as a control unit failure — the electronic board that runs the programme has failed its internal check. It isn't reporting a problem with the drum, heater or water supply; it is reporting a problem with the part doing the reporting, which is why the manual tells you to note the code, switch off and call service rather than offering anything to try.
