What F07 actually means
The washing machine's control board has reported an internal fault and stopped the programme.
F07 is one of Hisense's electronic module faults. The main control board has either detected a problem with itself or lost a sensible signal from one of the parts it monitors, so it halts the wash rather than carry on blind. Hisense's own instruction is to switch the machine off for a few seconds and try again; if the code comes straight back, it needs looking at.
What usually causes it
- A one-off glitch in the control board after a power cut or surge
- Excess foam from too much detergent confusing the machine's sensors
- A failed or damp-affected main control board
- A loose or corroded internal connection between the board and a component
- A faulty sensor or motor feeding bad readings back to the board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the programme dial to Off, switch the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and try a short cycle
- If you had a lot of foam in the drum, run a rinse and spin with no detergent and use less next time
- Check the drain hose isn't kinked and clean the pump filter at the bottom front, so the machine isn't sitting in water
- Make sure the door is properly shut and nothing is trapped in the seal
When to call someone
This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.
Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
