What F10 actually means
The control board has lost one of the three power feeds to the drum motor, so it shuts the wash down rather than try to spin.
Hisense machines use a brushless motor driven by an inverter board, and that board constantly watches all three motor phases. If one phase reads as missing or unbalanced while the drum is being driven, the machine flags F10, cuts the motor relay and stops mid-programme — usually with water still in the drum. It will try again on the next cycle, but after a run of repeated failures it locks the motor out completely.
What usually causes it
- A loose or partly unplugged motor connector at the motor or control board
- A damaged or chafed wire in the motor harness, often where it flexes near the tub
- A failed winding in the drum motor itself
- A fault in the inverter section of the main control board
- Water or detergent ingress onto the motor connections after a leak
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and try a short programme — a one-off glitch can clear.
- If there is water left in the drum, run a drain or spin-only programme; if the drum will not turn at all, stop there.
- Take note of whether it fails as soon as the drum tries to move, or only at high spin speed — that detail saves the engineer time.
