What F51 actually means
One of the machine's internal sensors is giving a reading the control board won't accept, so it halts the cycle.
Hisense group F50 and F51 together as a sensor fault. The control board is either getting nothing from a sensor or a reading outside the range it expects, and rather than run blind it stops. The manual gives no owner-level remedy for this one — it points straight at after-sales service, which tells you it is an internal component or its wiring rather than anything to do with loading or water supply.
What usually causes it
- A failed sensor inside the machine
- A loose or corroded plug on the sensor's wiring
- Damp or water ingress affecting a sensor connection
- A control board that has stopped reading the sensor correctly
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power up and start a cycle again — if it was a one-off glitch it may clear
- If the code returns straight away, note it down along with the model and serial number from the nameplate ready for the engineer
