What F06 actually means
The machine's control electronics have flagged a fault and stopped the wash — it can also be triggered by too much foam or water where it shouldn't be.
Hisense group F04 to F07 together as an electronic module fault, which also covers overflow and excessive suds. The control board has either detected a problem with itself or a reading it doesn't trust, so it halts the programme mid-cycle rather than carrying on. Occasionally a heavy dose of detergent creates so much foam that the machine reads it as a fault, but more often the cause is in the electronics.
What usually causes it
- Too much detergent creating excessive foam
- A one-off glitch in the control board after a power interruption
- Faulty control module (main electronic board)
- Water level or pressure sensing fault confusing the board
- Damp or a small leak affecting the electronics
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall, leave it for a minute or two, then switch back on and try a short cycle — this clears a one-off glitch
- If you've used a lot of detergent, run a rinse cycle with no detergent at all to clear the foam
- Use the correct dose for your load size and water hardness next time, especially with non-bio or liquid detergents
- Clean the drain pump filter (the small hatch at the bottom front) so water can clear properly
- Check the drain hose isn't kinked or pushed too far into the standpipe
