What E03 actually means
The dryer has stopped because it thinks the condensed water has nowhere to go /aoswitch has not reported back, and on most of these models that means the water tank is full or not seated properly.
On the heat pump models this code comes from the aquaswitch \u2014 the switch that tells the control board whether the condensate can be pumped into the tank. If it doesn't see the expected signal, the machine reports the tank as full and halts the programme rather than carry on making water it can't put anywhere. On the washer-dryer models in this range the same number is logged as a pump failure, so the underlying theme is the same: water is not being moved where it should be.
What E03 looks like on a New World tumble dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a New World tumble dryer, E03 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing
- Door stuck shut with the load inside
- Won't start even with the door closed
- Machine not draining
- Water left in the drum at the end of the cycle
- Stops mid-cycle full of water
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- Water tank full and needing emptying
- Tank not pushed fully home, so the switch never registers it
- Blocked or restricted condensate drain route inside the machine
- Faulty or disconnected aquaswitch (or its plug pushed off during transit or a previous repair)
- Failed drain pump on the washer-dryer versions
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Empty the condensate water tank and push it firmly back in until it seats
- If the dryer is plumbed to a drain, check the hose is not kinked, trapped behind the machine or pushed too far down the standpipe
- Clean the door lint filter and the lower filter/condenser filter cover in the plinth if your model has one
- Switch off at the socket for a minute, then power up and restart a programme
Which New World models show E03
E03 means the same thing on all 14 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Can I fix New World E03 myself?
There are 4 checks you can safely do yourself first.
- Empty the condensate water tank and push it firmly back in until it seats.
- If the dryer is plumbed to a drain, check the hose is not kinked, trapped behind the machine or pushed too far down the standpipe.
- Clean the door lint filter and the lower filter/condenser filter cover in the plinth if your model has one.
- Switch off at the socket for a minute, then power up and restart a programme.
This sometimes clears with those checks. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly.

Tried the checks and it's still showing E03?
This sometimes clears with the checks above. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly. Then it wants someone who can open it up.
