What E12 actually means

The dryer's control board has lost communication with one of its internal modules and has stopped the programme.

New E12 is a "3D communication error" — an internal signalling fault between the main control board and another board or sensor module it talks to. The documents do not describe the fault any further than that, and they mark it as one that always requires a service visit rather than anything the user can put right. In practice the machine will normally halt and refuse to run a cycle through to the end.

What E12 looks like on a New World tumble dryer
