What E15 actually means
The control board has flagged a fault with the machine's Twinjet water-spray system and halted the programme.
In New the fault for this range, E15 sits alongside the Twinjet system — the water jet arrangement that sprays into the drum. The board watches that circuit and stops the cycle if it does not behave as expected. Worth saying plainly: the manufacturer's table is a bare list with no description of how the fault is triggered, and the code is marked as one that is not normally shown on the display, so on some of these models it may only appear in a service readout rather than during ordinary use.
What E15 looks like on a New World tumble dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a New World tumble dryer, E15 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing
- Door stuck shut with the load inside
- Won't start even with the door closed
- Not filling with water
- No water going in
- Takes for ever to fill
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- A fault in the Twinjet spray or its valve
- A loose or damaged connection to that part of the machine
- A control board that has logged the fault wrongly
- Restricted water supply affecting the spray system
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the appliance off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and restart a cycle — a one-off logged fault will often not return.
- Check the water supply tap is fully open and the inlet hose is not kinked or trapped behind the machine.
- Make sure the door is shut firmly enough to click before starting.
Which New World models show E15
E15 means the same thing on all 12 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.
