What E51 actually means

The control board has found that the software on the motor control card isn't the version it expects, so it refuses to run the drum.

These New World machines drive the drum with a BLDC motor that has its own control card, and that card carries its own software. E51 is flagged when the main board reads that software as wrong or incompatible for the machine, rather than reporting a mechanical fault. The result is that the cycle won't start or stops early, and the code stays on the display.

What E51 looks like on a New World tumble dryer

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a New World tumble dryer, E51 usually shows up as one or more of these:

Drum not turning
Won't spin
Hums or buzzes but nothing moves

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
