New World E19 tumble dryer: what it means & what to check

What E19 actually means

The control board has flagged a fault with one of the water/steam jet or motor-control components and has halted the programme.

On this Beko-built New World range there is a block of codes covering the dryer sensor, the BLDC motor card and the Pyrojet system, and E19 falls inside that block. The fault we hold does not label E19 unambiguously enough for us to tell you with certainty which of those two it is, and the manual states plainly that repairs in this area are for an authorised engineer only.

What E19 looks like on a New World tumble dryer

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a New World tumble dryer, E19 usually shows up as one or more of these:

Machine door won't open
Door won't lock or click shut
Door lock light flashing
Door stuck shut with the load inside
Won't start even with the door closed
Machine not draining
Water left in the drum at the end of the cycle
Stops mid-cycle full of water

What usually causes it

A wiring connector to the affected component knocked loose or corroded
Failure of the jet/motor-control component the board is monitoring
A fault on the control board itself, or on the separate BLDC card
Loss of communication between the main board and the secondary card

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and restart the programme — genuine one-off electrical glitches will clear
Check the door has clicked properly shut, as a half-latched door can stop a cycle at an odd point
Make sure the inlet and drain hoses at the back are not kinked or trapped against the wall
Clean the lint filter and, on condenser models, the filter behind the lower flap
