What E10 actually means
The machine can't get a sensible reading from the sensor that tells it how much water is in the drum, so it has stopped rather than risk overfilling or running dry.
E10 is the electronic pressure sensor fault. That sensor reports the water level to the control board as a frequency signal; if the signal is out of range or missing altogether, the board flags E10 and abandons the cycle. Common culprits are the small pressure hose to the sensor, the sensor itself, or its wiring connection.
What usually causes it
- Blocked, kinked or split pressure hose between the tub and the sensor
- Loose or corroded plug on the sensor
- Failed electronic pressure sensor
- Suds or sludge blocking the sensor's air trap
- Fault on the main control board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and try a short cycle
- Clean the pump filter at the bottom front and make sure it's screwed back in fully
- Check the drain hose isn't kinked or pushed too far into the standpipe
- Run an empty hot wash with no detergent if you've been overdosing detergent and getting heavy foam
