What F04 actually means

The control board has flagged an internal electronic fault and shut the cycle down.

Teknix don't break F04 out on its own — everything from F04 to F98 is grouped together as an electronic module fault, meaning the main control board has either failed a self-check or lost sensible signals from something it drives. The machine stops part-way through the programme and won't carry on. Because it isn't tied to one specific component in the documentation, there's no way to read anything more from the code itself; it needs a board-level diagnosis on site.

What F04 looks like on a Teknix washer dryer

What usually causes it

Main control board fault or a failed self-check on power-up
A loose or corroded connection between the board and a component it controls
Damp reaching the electronics, often after a leak or a very humid utility room
A component the board monitors failing and reporting nonsense back (heater, sensor or motor circuit)
A power surge or supply interruption that has upset the board

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the programme dial to Off for a few seconds, then switch the machine off at the wall for a minute and back on — a one-off glitch will sometimes clear and the machine will run a full cycle normally
If it clears, run a short wash and watch whether the fault comes back at the same point; that's useful information for whoever attends
Note whether the drum was heating, washing or spinning when it stopped
