What F14 actually means
The machine has stopped because the door lock isn't behaving as expected — the control board can't confirm the door is properly shut and released as it should be.
Teknix list F14 as a door unlock fault, and elsewhere in the same manual as a door open fault. In practice the control board has either lost the signal telling it the door is locked, or the interlock hasn't released when it was asked to, so the cycle halts rather than carrying on with a door it can't account for. On the TKW10142 and TKW12142 machines it behaves the same way — the programme stops where it is and F14 sits on the display.
What F14 looks like on a Teknix washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Teknix washer dryer, F14 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing
- Door stuck shut with the load inside

What usually causes it
- Door not fully latched, often because washing is caught in the seal or the drum is overloaded
- A worn or failing door interlock that no longer confirms it has locked or released
- The door catch or hinge dropped slightly out of line, so the latch doesn't seat squarely
- A loose or damaged connection between the interlock and the control board
- Less often, a fault on the electronic module itself
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Take some washing out if the drum is packed tight, and check nothing is trapped between the door and the rubber seal.
- Push the door firmly closed until you hear it latch, then press Start/Pause to see if the programme picks up.
- Wipe the seal and the face of the latch — detergent residue and grit stop the catch seating properly.
- Turn the machine off at the socket for a minute, then power it back up and restart the programme.
