Teknix F24 washer dryer: what it means & what to check

What F24 actually means

The machine has sensed more water in the drum than it should ever hold — or so much foam that it reads like an overflow — so it has stopped the cycle mid-programme.

Teknix washer dryers monitor the water level throughout the wash, and F24 appears when that level reaches the overflow point. The most common real-world cause is not a flood at all but a mound of foam from too much detergent, which sits on the sensor and reads as a full drum. The machine halts where it is rather than carrying on filling, and the manual's own instruction is to clear the alarm with the Start/Pause button once the cause is dealt with.

What F24 looks like on a Teknix washer dryer

What usually causes it

A water inlet valve not closing fully, so the drum keeps filling
A faulty or blocked water level (pressure) sensor misreading the level
Poor drainage leaving water behind, so the next fill tips it over the limit

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Cancel the programme, then run a rinse and spin with no detergent at all to clear any foam out of the drum
Check how much detergent you have been using against the dose on the pack — the softer your water, the less you need, and washer dryers are easily overdosed
Make sure you are using a detergent meant for automatic front-loading machines, not hand-wash or dishwashing liquid
Clean the drain pump filter and check the drain hose is not kinked or pushed too far down the standpipe
Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power up and restart the programme; if F24 comes straight back with no foam present, stop using it
